Good intentions

Does anyone else out there ever have the best of intentions that just blow up? Yeah, life stinks sometimes. If only we all had that crystal ball...

Wonderful Weekend Weather

We had wonderful weather when we were in Michigan City last weekend. We had a great time playing outside, enjoying some Mexican fare (and beverages!) for Mommy's birthday and going to the lake to feed the seagulls, ducks, geese and whatever other outdoor creatures looked hungry!

Here are some pictures of our fun- hopefully we'll be able to enjoy weather just as nice this weekend!

A sneak peek...

into Kylie's 5 year old pictures taken last week! Kylie just had to have this dress one day so I thought this picture was the perfect time to wear it for the first time. She did such a great job listening to the photographer during the shoot and striking many "princess" poses while Mommy wrestled with Peyton in the next room. The pictures did a great job of capturing Kylie's 5 yr old personality and will be a great addition to the photo memories we have of her first 4 years- look for your copy soon!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Today was definitely the perfect day for little leprechauns to spend the day outside! The girls and I had a great afternoon playing at the park in the sunshine and 70 degree temps. Here are a few pictures taken at the park and at our St. Patrick's Day dinner party tonight!

We hope that everyone found a pot of gold at the end of their rainbow today :)!

A Happy Birthday

Thanks to everyone for all of the b-day cards and wishes and to Daddy, Peyton and Kylie for a fun birthday day! 34 isn't so bad afterall :)!

We've spotted the Little Dipper!

Yes, Peyton has learned the art of dipping along with the love of ketchup. She has officially joined the ranks of all 1+ year olds we know!

A dinner date with daddy

I took the opportunity for Kylie to have some one on one time with Daddy when he got home later from work one night last week. Kylie enjoyed the "fancy" napkins I placed on the table along with the vase of princess roses from her room! Daddy enjoyed his pasta, Kylie enjoyed a bit of cookie dough for her dessert and of course both enjoyed their time together!

Tonight's featured item

Here are some shots we had to capture of Peyton's dining experience tonight. As you will see most of her happiest moments of the day are eating and eating by HERSELF. If anyone is curious what the very green item featured tonight was- it's watermelon yogurt! Peyton typically doesn't dine topless either but her appetizer was almost as messy as the main course so Mommy saved her outfit from any more staining!

Lookin' good!

Peyton's 1st Haircut!

Today we decided to take Peyton for her 1st haircut. In comparison to big sis, Peyton's came 6 months sooner! You can see from this "before" picture why we decided to go for it today :).

Peyton did great and it's funny the similarities when I think back to Kylie's 1st haircut (2/06): same Cookie Cutters location, sat in the same car (seat), watched the same show (The Wiggles!) and enjoyed getting a dum dum sucker prize for being so good!

We're so proud of you Peyton for being such a brave customer today-good thing monkey was there for support too! And if it's possible, you look even cuter than before!

How can it be...

that Kylie will be starting Kindergarten in only 5 months? Pete and I attended the kindergarten preview night last night where Kylie will attend grades K-5 beginning this August- Gwendolyn Brooks Elementary School. We're very excited for the girls to attend this school as it's in one of our nation's top school districts and is only five minutes from home!

I was surprised by the various emotions I was overcome with while at the school. Afterall, Kylie has practically been in fulltime daycare since she was 6 months old! Even so, I guess after hearing all of the information presented by her principal and teachers and touring the school, I couldn't help but feel like I was on the verge of letting some bits of "my little Kylie" go...

Riding a school bus, choosing her lunch, daily lessons of reading/writing/math/science/social studies/computers, art & music class twice a week, PE three times a week...yikes! Luckily Daddy was there to reassure me that everything was going to be ok and although some things will be new to us we'll all manage just fine. Afterall, Kylie isn't the first 5 year old to enter Kindergarten! But it sure does feel that way though b/c she's OUR 5 year old :)!
