A snow date!

A parent of one of Kylie's classmates contacted us last week about having a play date in the snow on the 22nd. Well, today is the 22nd and it's the perfect day for a snow date! So I bundled up little Kylie and Daddy thought Peyton would have fun too so off I went to bundle up little Peyton too!

Here they are before I'm sure having a fantastic hour of playing in the snow with friends for the 1st time this year!

"Kylie's Party"

This is a familiar sight throughout our house these days! Since Kylie is learning to write and is able to spell a lot of words either how they are really spelled or how they sound to a kindergartener, she loves grabbing notepads and writing away! Sometimes she'll add drawings or her "autograph" to the pages but almost always she is writing out invites to "her party". We did actually attend one the other night in the playroom that consisted of reading stories and having cake in the play kitchen area that was all set up for the event (Christmas decorations and all!). But usually there are just lots of invites and signs with arrows directing us to "Kylie's Party" taped up on the walls.

Great writing and spelling Kylie! We're honored to be on the guest list for your parties and you are a wonderful little hostess!

Oh the weather outside is frightful...

but the fire is so delightful!

Winter Party Fun

Kylie had a fantastic day on Friday! Not only was it the last day of school before a 2 week break, it was Winter Party day! As 1 of the 2 room moms for Kylie's class I knew it was going to be a great end to the week for the kids because we had planned so many fun things for them! We made a snowflake magnet for the craft, had milk and snowballs (powdered donut holes) for snack, played Jack Frost Freeze, Pin the Nose on Frosty, had a snowball fight (with balloons!) and read winter themed stories. Holiday music was playing all the while in the background to add to the "holly jollyness" of the day! Goodie bags were passed out at the end and didn't disappoint as they were filled with snowballs and snowman kisses (marshmallows & hershey kisses)!

I'm so glad all of the kids had such a fantastic time at their party. Happy Winter Break!

You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!

This afternoon was the Kindergarten Gingerbread Program at Kylie's school. The stage was filled with VERY excited kindergarteners and the audience was filled with very proud parents! The songs and poems were terrific and Kylie delivered her "Q is for quiet all through the house" like a pro. The best part was you could tell how much the kids enjoyed performing for us.

After the program, we got to make a gingerbread house with our little gingerbread man which was a sweet time too! I thought the milk carton was such a great idea and made it so easy to construct our house. The kids got to leave school half and hour early so Kylie and I were left with about an hour before her gymnastics class. So I took the opportunity to have her see Santa at the mall since she was definitely dressed for the occasion, we hadn't visited Mr. Mall Santa yet and Peyton wasn't with us so she wouldn't have to be a part of something she really doesn't want much to do with this year!

So sit back, relax and enjoy some of Kylie's Gingerbread Day!
